Dulini Lodge

PLAN MY TRIP

On the banks of the Mabrak River beneath the shade of ancient ebony and leadwood trees, Dulini Lodge offers a peaceful and luxury safari camp experience in the private Dulini Private Game Reserve.

Small and intimate, accommodations at the camp consist of only six private suites. These exquisite, thatched suites sit on the lush riverbank and afford private views of the magnificent surroundings and abundant wildlife. Each spacious suite’s décor combines Pan-African art with a traditional safari theme and comes with a large en suite bathroom complete with a large porcelain tub for soaking in and an outdoor shower. Guests can relax and take in the views from their private veranda and heated plunge pool. Other amenities include air-conditioning, fans, in-room safe, mini bar, and Wi-Fi.

Dulini Lodge is located in the 24,710-acre Dulini Private Game Reserve. The reserve itself is situated in the beautiful Sabi Sands Game Reserve which shares thirty-one miles of unfenced land with the world-famous Kruger National Park. It an area famous for the wide diversity of its wildlife including the Big Five: lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo. Set between the perennial Sand and Sabi Rivers, the Sabi Sands Reserve boasts one of the highest and most bio-diverse populations of any reserve in Africa.

There are several activities to choose from at the lodge. Game drives are conducted in comfortable open land rovers led by professional rangers and trackers, many of whom grew up in the area. The game drives traverse twenty-four thousand acres of private and pristine land. At night, the land comes alive with many nocturnal animals whose antics can be enjoyed on a night drive. Daily bush walks are conducted by well-informed guides and provide a closer view of the bush and its animals. The lodge is also a great place for bird watching.

The main lodge features a laid-back ambience with all the comfort of deep-cushioned couches and chairs in the lounge area. An extensive library provides a book for all tastes to enjoy on the cool veranda. The main viewing deck is shaded by a leafy jackalberry tree and happens to be a great spot for watching leopards and other animals roam past on their way to the river. The boma, the traditional dining venue offers delicious food under a night sky and the warmth of a roaring fire. The wine cellar stocks a variety of vintages and boasts a large collection of South African wines. The lodge also has a full gym and a safari shop which donates 50 percent of its profits to the EsiDuini Community Trust. Babysitting services are available for those traveling with small children.
