Dulini Leadwood Lodge

PLAN MY TRIP

Hidden along the banks where the Mabrak and Sand Rivers meet, Dulini Leadwood provides the ultimate in luxurious rooms, breathtaking scenery, and attentive service.

Accommodations at the lodge consist of three lavish suites. But four suites can be booked for exclusive sole-use. Each elegant suite is set apart from its neighbors to ensure peace and solitude. The large suites are constructed from crushed stone, raw cement, rough granite, and glass and furnished with its own cozy fireplace, sitting room, and spacious bedroom. The lovely en suite bathrooms feature a bath as well as both an indoor and outdoor shower. While the wooden decks come with their own private plunge pool, making it the ideal spot to relax and watch the local wildlife wander by. Additional amenities include air conditioning, bathrobes, fans, a mini bar, a safe, and tea and coffee facilities. Plus, a private butler will tend to every need.

Dulini Leadwood is located in the 24,710-acre Dulini Private Game Reserve. The reserve itself is situated in the beautiful Sabi Sands Game Reserve which shares thirty-one miles of unfenced land with the world-famous Kruger National Park. It an area famous for the wide diversity of its wildlife including the Big Five: lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo. Set between the perennial Sand and Sabi Rivers, the Sabi Sands Reserve boasts one of the highest and most bio-diverse populations of any reserve in Africa.

There are several activities to choose from at the lodge. Game drives are conducted in comfortable open land rovers led by professional rangers and trackers, many of whom grew up in the area. For the ultimate private experience, the game vehicles accommodate no more than six guests. Each drive traverses twenty-four thousand acres of private and pristine land. At night, the land comes alive with many nocturnal animals whose antics can be enjoyed on a night drive. Daily bush walks are conducted by well-informed guides and provide a closer view of the bush and its animals. The lodge is also a great place for bird watching.

The lodge is named after the ancient leadwood trees that shade the property. Though the cantilevered main viewing deck is shaded by a huge jackalberry tree. There is a restaurant, bar, and lounge area as well as a wine cellar boasting some South Africa’s finest vintages. Delicious meals are served indoors or around the traditional boma. At night, the boma’s campfire invites guests to relax with a drink and share stories of the day’s adventures.
