Leopard Hills

PLAN MY TRIP

Set on a rocky outcrop overlooking the bush and an active waterhole, Leopard Hills Lodge offers five-star accommodations and specializes in viewing awe-inspiring leopards as well as the rest of the “big five” at close range.

The lodge has eight luxurious glass-fronted suites to choose from. The spacious bedrooms come complete with king-sized beds draped in mosquito netting and dressed in crisp percale cotton linen, down duvets, and pillows. The air-conditioned lounge has comfortable chairs that invite guests to sit and use the complimentary binoculars to gaze outside. The en suite bathrooms include double indoor and outdoor showers that open to a magnificent view of the bush. For added privacy, each suite features its own sundeck with a hammock for relaxing in or a rock plunge pool for cooling while still watching the animals go by.

The camp is located within the Sabi Sand Game Reserve overlooking a waterhole from its magnificent mountain retreat. Sabi Sands Game Reserve shares thirty-one miles of unfenced land with the world-famous Kruger National Park. Together the two parks form a conservation area of almost five million acres, roughly the size of New Jersey. Set between the perennial Sand and Sabi Rivers, the Sabi Sands Reserve comprises 160,618-acres and boasts one of the highest and most bio-diverse populations of any reserve in Africa. The Reserve features no less than 145 mammal species, 500 bird species, 110 reptile species, 30 amphibian species, 330 tree species, and 45 fish species.

Games drives in specially designed, open-air vehicles are the focal point of an African safari, and Leopard Hills does not disappoint, providing knowledgeable, safety-conscious guides known for being the best in the business. Rangers share their extensive familiarity with wildlife both large and small and ensure guests a highly memorable experience. Walking safaris, birding safaris, and frogging safaris are also offered at certain times of the year. Other activities unique to Leopard Hills are cultural tours of the local villages, helicopter flights, elephant interaction, and elephant rides.

At the main lodge, the viewing deck overlooks the active waterhole and surrounding African bushveld. The open-air veranda, main deck, and lounge areas are all perfect for enjoying drinks or an alfresco breakfast or lunch. The lodge also has a well-stocked wine cellar, refreshing swimming pool, library, and African curio shop. Chef-prepared meals offer a taste of Africa. Meals are served either under the stars in a traditional boma, in the finely furnished dining room, or even in the romantic privacy of the suite’s own viewing deck.
