Kambaku River Sands

PLAN MY TRIP

Kambaku River Sands is one of the most popular lodges in the Timbavati.

Kambaku River Sands is composed of nine luxurious suites plus an additional honeymoon suite. Constructed of timber, stone, glass, and thatch, each room has its own en-suite bathroom, with a bath and indoor and outdoor showers, as well as a private viewing deck. The suites also feature in-room mini bar, air conditioning, and internet access.

Expect exceptional cuisine, specialist wine tastings, and traditional African meals served in the dining area, around the open air boma fire, or along the river. The lodge’s raised common area offers great views over a waterhole and includes a large lounge, dining room, fireplace, bar, wine cellar, swimming pool, business center, curio shop, and a nearby spa with sauna and steam rooms.

The Timbavati Nature Reserve is in the heart of the Lowveld and lies on the western boundary of Kruger National Park. Not only does the Timbavati have exceptional wildlife viewing, but it is part of a much larger wildlife area known as the Greater Kruger National Park, which is world renowned for its wildlife.

On daily game drives you are likely to see the “Big 5,” which includes lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, and buffalo. You can also expect great birdlife. For photographers there is a game viewing hide which can provide an excellent opportunity for a more laidback wildlife viewing experience.
