Just the country’s name: Tanzania conjures up a host of iconic images from the snow-capped heights of Mount Kilimanjaro, to the vast plains of the Serengeti, to white-sailed Dhows sailing past the spice island of Zanzibar. This country has so much to offer: great wildlife, a wonderful history, first class lodges, authentic safari settings, and interesting and friendly people.

Tanzania is the land of safaris. While it is main stream, it still manages to remain “African” in all the best ways. Serengeti National Park is one of the most famous wildlife parks in the world. People flock here to see the great migration when over a million wildebeest and several thousand zebras flow south with the rains. Other national parks include the more laid-back Arusha National Park encompassing Mt. Meru with its ancient fig trees, waterfalls, and rare colubus monkeys and Tarangire National Park, a place of baobab and acacia trees as well as the densest population of elephants in Tanzania.

Taking adventure to new heights, visitors can experience the unique beauty of Ngorongoro Crater. The largest unflooded and unbroken caldera in the world, it houses approximately 30,000 animals at any one time and is an excellent place to spot the endangered black rhino.
