Lion Sands Ivory Lodge is comprised of eight one-bedroom villas and one two-bedroom villa, all elevated above the bush. Most of the rooms afford gorgeous views of the Sabie River. The lodge is built using natural materials to enhance its wild setting utilizing steel, wood, thatch, glass, water, & sand. The spacious rooms reflect sophisticated mid-century modern architecture with bold furniture and edgy décor, ambient lighting, interpretations of tribal design, and highly textured finishes. Each villa has a large master bedroom with an en suite bathroom featuring both an indoor shower and outdoor shower in a garden forest setting. For cozy evenings, each unit has a private lounge area and fireplace. For the ultimate in luxury and wildlife viewing, each villa enjoys its own private deck complete with a pool and a covered patio. Located in the Lion Sands Game Reserve within the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve and adjacent to the world-famous Kruger National Park, the lodge affords stunning view of the Sabie River and the bushveld. The river itself attracts a wide variety of amphibians, reptiles, and bird life. The reserve shares 50 kilometers of unfenced boundary with Kruger allowing animals to flow back and forth between the parks including the Big Five and boasts one of the highest concentration of game per hectare on the planet. It’s also a great place for rare leopard viewing.

The lodge offers many exciting and informative activities.Game drives are conducted twice a day in off-road vehicles that follow the animals through rough terrain.Guests are likely to spot roaming groups of lions and cheetahs, giraffe, buffalo, wild dog, wildebeest, kudu, hyena, hippo, and crocodile, as well as around 350 different species of bird. Guided walking safaris take hikers back to the life of the original pioneers and hunters traversing the wilds up close. Enjoy a helicopter ride over Blyde River Canyon and take in breathtaking aerial views of such wonders as the Three Rondawels and the Blydepoort Dam. For a cultural tour, the lodge provides the wonderful opportunity to visit the Henna Pre-School within the Huntington community, and to see first-hand the work that More Community Trust does to help the local population.
