The Capital Mirage

PLAN MY TRIP

Located in the trendy De Waterkant area of beautiful Cape Town, The Capital Mirage offers apartment-style rooms with all the comforts and conveniences of home.

Accommodations at the hotel consist of Luxury or Superior Studios. The stylish and modern Luxury Studio features a spacious bedroom with a king bed or twin bed, a large sitting area, a full en suite bathroom with both a bath and shower, and a fully-equipped modern kitchen. While the sophisticated Superior Studios offer more space with the same comforts. Additional amenities for both rooms include an HD television, complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi, DVD player, espresso machine, washing machine and dryer, electronic safe, desk, air-conditioning and heating, hairdryer, international plug points, and an alarm clock with an iPod docking station.

The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Cape Town and is only a few minutes away from the city’s most notable and visited attraction, the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. Still a working dock, visitors can watch ships come and go. The V & A, as it is locally known, also boasts hundreds of shops and is a departing point for ferries to Hout Bay, Simon’s Town, the Cape Fur Seal colony, and Robben Island, location of the Nelson Mandela Gateway. Other nearby attractions include Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, Artscape Theatre Centre, Cape Winelands, and Cape Town Stadium, a 2010 FIFA World Cup venue.

With a Mediterranean climate, rugged mountains, considerable coastline, inland valleys, coastal plains, and semi-desert fringes Cape Town is comparable to southern California. The outdoor adventurist can enjoy a range of activities from lounging on one of the many world-class beaches, to exploring Table Mountain where the eighty-seven-year-old cableway provides panoramic views of the Mother City. Dolphin and whale watching are also popular tourist attractions as well as cage diving with great white sharks for the more daring.

The hotel enjoys three in-house restaurants: Sushi, Steak/Grill House, and a Rooftop Restaurant and Bar. There is even a Gin and Snooker Lounge for a relaxing evening in. The hotel also has a swimming pool and state of the art gym. For added convenience, there is even a spa and hair salon as well as limited complimentary laundry service. The hotel offers secure and free parking in the underground garage. However, for those who don’t want to drive themselves, the hotel provides a free scheduled shuttle to the V & A Waterfront.
