Dulini River Lodge

Overlooking the perennial Sand River, Dulini River Lodge radiates with classic safari elegance and comfort within the grounds of the Dulini Private Game Reserve.

Accommodations at the lodge consist of six elevated suites scattered along the banks of the river under the shade of ancient ebony trees. Each well-designed room is furnished with comfortable king beds and a cozy sitting area. The en suite bathrooms have the added luxury of an outdoor shower. While the wide wooden decks include not only inviting loungers but a heated plunge pool. Guests can enjoy watching elephants and other local wildlife while having a swim. Moreover, a private butler caters to every need.

Dulini River Lodge is located in the 24,710-acre Dulini Private Game Reserve. The reserve itself is situated in the beautiful Sabi Sands Game Reserve which shares thirty-one miles of unfenced land with the world-famous Kruger National Park. It an area famous for the wide diversity of its wildlife including the Big Five: lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo. Set between the perennial Sand and Sabi Rivers, the Sabi Sands Reserve boasts one of the highest and most bio-diverse populations of any reserve in Africa.

There are several activities to choose from at the lodge. Game drives are conducted in comfortable open land rovers led by professional rangers and trackers, many of whom grew up in the area. The game drives traverse twenty-four thousand acres of private and pristine land. At night, the land comes alive with many nocturnal animals whose antics can be enjoyed on a night drive. Daily bush walks are conducted by well-informed guides and provide a closer view of the bush and its animals. The lodge is also a great place for bird watching.

The main area of the lodge features a cantilevered wooden deck shaded and protected by a large jackalberry tree. This is the perfect vantage for catching site of the elusive leopard and many other animals. Delicious meals are served in the restaurant and bar as well as al fresco on either the deck or around the traditional fire of the boma. At night, guests gather around the inviting campfire and swap stories. The lodge also offers massages for added relaxation. The Safari Shop sells a variety of local trinkets and safari gear. The shop donates fifty percent of its profits to the EsiDuini Community Trust. Babysitting services are available upon request.
