The Claremont

PLAN MY TRIP

The Claremont is a fifteen-room boutique hotel set in a restored, century-old Cape Dutch manor house in Claremont, one of Cape Town’s quiet, tree-lined southern suburbs, with views up to Devil’s Peak.

Rooms come in three categories. Ten Deluxe Rooms are spread across the property, two inside the original manor and eight arranged around the pool and gardens. Four Classic Rooms are split between the manor house and the garden cottages. The Sauer Suite, named after architect Magda Sauer, is privately accessed and designed for longer stays, with its own verandah, garden, and pool. Interiors are classic and residential in style, with soft furnishings and period detailing.

There are three places to eat and drink on site. Veld & Vine Bistro serves seasonal South African dishes, including seafood and West Coast-farmed meats, paired with Constantia Valley wines.

Koffiehuis offers barista coffee, light meals, cakes, and an all-day high tea, and the 1928 Craft Bar stocks rare and vintage wines, craft beers, artisanal gins, and aged whiskies.

Guest facilities include a garden swimming pool, three lounges (the Sun Room, Safari Library, and main Lounge), a concierge service, 24-hour reception, and complimentary secure on-site parking. Running and hiking routes can be arranged, and padel courts are bookable nearby.

Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, the Constantia Winelands, and Table Mountain National Park are all a short drive away, making The Claremont a calm, well-located base for time in Cape Town before or after safari.
