Tawana

PLAN MY TRIP

Tawana Camp in Botswana offers a unique and immersive wildlife experience in the heart of the Okavango Delta

With five double suites and three family suites, Tawana has unique accommodation for larger groups and families. Each suite has a private wooden deck under the trees that looks out over the Gomoti River and the surrounding floodplains. The veranda is furnished with a sala (outdoor day bed) and built to include a refreshing private plunge pool. Each en suite bathroom has an indoor and an outdoor shower, as well as a separate bath. Contemporary yet comfortable décor not only makes use of the natural textures of the landscape, but also incorporates arts and crafts from the nearby Batawana tribe.

The camp is set under the sprawling trees along the banks of the Gomoti River, with views of wide floodplains that are home to a diversity of wildlife. Situated on the Moremi Game Reserve in the Okavango Delta, Tawana takes advantage of one of the most wildlife rich areas in Africa. Countless antelope and bird species roam the plains, accompanied by herds of elephant. Large predators like lion, leopard, and even African wild dog make for exciting game viewing. Guests are safe on raised decks and walkways when wildlife wanders through the unfenced camp.

Tawana’s proximity to the Gomoti River puts it in an ideal position for game viewing, whether it’s from the camp’s raised decks or from a game drive. Game drives depart twice daily, giving every guest multiple unforgettable trips into the vast wilderness. Birding excursions showcase a renowned variety of unique birdlife. A spa on site offers facial and body spa treatments to relax after long days of bush activities. A fitness area and lap pool are available to help guests stay active during their holiday. The camp can even arrange a helicopter flight over the Okavango Delta to gain a new perspective on the wild landscape.

Tawana was founded in partnership with (and named after) Chief Tawana Moremi of the Batawana tribe. This partnership ensures the protection of the region while also helping safari camps like Tawana positively impact nearby communities. The land that Tawana camp occupies was protected by the Batawana tribe long ago, and Tawana looks to continue that legacy of conservation.
