Shinde Enclave

PLAN MY TRIP

Situated in the beautiful Shinde Concession of the Okavango Delta, Shinde Enclave is an exclusive camp offering the ultimate in personalized service.

An intimate camp within a camp, Shinde Enclave houses three exquisite safari tents for up to only six people, delivering maximum privacy at this magnificent destination. Refurbished in 2015, the tents have new linens and elegant furnishings that blend in with the natural settings. The new en suite bathrooms have been enlarged to include a walk-in shower and new fixtures. Wide sliding doors lead onto the extended front decks where guests can relax and take in the open floodplains or the beauties of the unique waterways of the Delta. A private chef, server, and housekeeper see to guest’s needs.

The camp is located on a lush palm island within the world-famous Okavango Delta, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The papyrus-lined lagoon teems with an abundance of wildlife. The rare Sitatunga antelope can often be seen here, along with lion, hyena, and elephant, to name a few. The waterways teem with bird life with over 450 species found hereabouts including heron, egrets, and the rarer Pel’s fishing owl. Aquatic animals such as crocodiles and hippos are common sightings.

A personal guide and specially designed game drive vehicle are available for daily game drives. Taking advantage of the waterways, mokoro trips explore the aquatic wildlife of the Delta in traditional dug-out canoes steered by long poles. There are also motor boat excursions to the Gadlkwe Heronry. Anglers will enjoy the catch and release fishing for tilapia and tigerfish. Leisurely guided nature walks explore the lagoon and bush in more detail to see flora and fauna missed from the vehicles.

This exclusive camp is the perfect choice for small groups or families. There is even a private dining room and lounge area for the perfect respite after a day of exploring the African terrain. The private fire deck overlooks a papyrus field, a favorite haunt of the rare sitatunga antelope. Children over ten are welcome here.
