Botswana

Kalahari and Okavango

PLAN MY TRIP

Exploring the vast Kalahari Desert and the world-famous Okavango Delta, the Kalahari and Okavango journey is an exciting fully-serviced mobile safari through the wilds of Botswana.

A minimum of two guests is required to begin the journey with a maximum of seven per departure. The safari departs from Maun for a ten night/eleven-day adventure before returning to Maun. As a fully-serviced safari, guests just come along for the ride. The trip includes a private safari vehicle and professional guide, plus a backup driver, cook, and camp assist following in their own vehicle. The camp staff takes care of everything from setting up the tents to preparing delicious meals.

This exciting journey begins by exploring the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, the second largest game reserve in the world. The Kalahari is generally flat with plenty of waist-high golden grass covering the scrubby sand dunes, wide flat clay pans, and acacia woodlands and camelthorn trees. Here travelers will get to interact with the San Bushmen who have lived in the region for thousands of years as well as spotting the black-maned Kalahari lion and large herds of springbok and gemsbok, as well as wildebeest, hartebeest, eland, and giraffe. Then its off to the salt pans of Makgadikgadi National Park to watch the zebra migration. Finally, the trip ends with an exploration of the abundant animals of Moremi Game Reserve and the channels of the Okavango Delta.
