Melote House

PLAN MY TRIP

A sole-use property with a space for every group, Melote House offers guests a uniquely personal luxury safari stay

Melote House is a uniquely exclusive destination, with a main private house sleeping up to twelve guests and an adjacent cottage sleeping up to four more. Any booking at the house is entirely private and exclusive, creating an unforgettable personal experience. The private deck overlooks a waterhole, so wildlife gathers near the property for a drink daily. Expansive indoor and outdoor lounge areas, including a firepit area, allow guests to mingle over drinks in the evenings.

The house comes fully staffed, including private guide, butler, and chef. Private dinners are specially prepared and served with premium South African wine. Three separate swimming pools are perfect for relaxing in the warm afternoons, and a private spa area offers a variety of massage therapies and spa treatments. Babysitting services are available for families with small children.

The house is built against a green hill that overlooks a vast valley of acacia bush. It has easy access to the winding and wildlife-rich Palala River, offering boat cruises, catch and release fishing, and bird watching over the water. Day and nighttime game drives, as well as guided bush walks, allow guests to observe the flora and fauna of the area on the lowest level, teaching appreciation of the complexity of the Lapalala Wilderness ecosystem.

As a Lepogo Lodge, Melote House is committed to running sustainable tourism and supporting the environment it is a part of. Wildlife and habitat conservation is a priority for the house, and it actively participates in local conservation efforts to preserve the beautiful landscape. These efforts include supporting a cheetah breeding program, a pangolin conservation project, and a rhino sanctuary. Each program also gives back to local communities.
