Tuludi

PLAN MY TRIP

Nestled within Khwai Private Reserve, Tuludi Camp provides an intimate and exclusive view of the famous Okavango Delta’s floodplains and ample wildlife.

Accommodations at Tuludi consist of seven spacious tented rooms set on raised wooden platforms and sporting high-pitched roofs for a light and airy feel. Six of the canvas rooms come with either two twin beds or a double bed. While the family tent has one king bed and two twin beds. Every tent includes a large en suite bathroom with a deep, soaking bathtub as well as both an indoor and outdoor shower. Moreover, each tent enjoys a wide wooden veranda with a sunken seating area and private plunge pool ensuring panoramic views of the floodplains and the ultimate in relaxation.

The camp is situated within the 440,000-acre beautiful Khwai Private Reserve bordering the Okavango Delta World Heritage Site and comprises a diverse number of habitats including riverine woodlands, open floodplains, river, and mopane woodland. This part of Botswana is lush year-round as it is fed by the rains from Angola that run down the Khwai and Sable Alley Rivers. A variety of game animals live here too from lions, leopards, wild dogs, elephants, buffaloes, and the sable antelopes. The camp is also quite close to the Moremi Game Reserve.

The camp has many exciting activities to choose from. Day drives are conducted by expert rangers in traditional 4×4 vehicles. Night drives are an exhilarating way to spy on the area’s nocturnal animals such as leopards, spiky porcupines, and honey badgers. Because the camp sits in a private reserve and only three vehicles per sighting go out a day, the camp provides a very exclusive view of the land and animals. Guided bush walks let visitors get a closer and more detailed look at the local flora and fauna. In addition to which, Tuludi also offers the exciting mokoro safari. Botswana’s version of a gondola, visitors can enjoy being gently poled along the water in a traditional canoe. It’s the ideal way to do some bird watching or catch sight of grunting hippos and snapping crocodiles.

The tents are connected to the main communal area via raised wooden walkways that snake through the leadwood trees. The heart of the camp is made up of a comfy lounge amply furnished with deep, inviting couches and armchairs on a raised deck. Next door to the lounge is the camp dining room which serves up delicious, homey meals. A firepit is set just outside for after dinner drinks and a chance to swap tales. Other amenities include a large, communal pool, a treehouse library, and a curio shop.
