Camp Moremi

Intimate Camp Moremi is situated on the banks of the Xaxanaka lagoon within the Moremi Game Reserve. This region of Botswana’s Okavango Delta is renowned for is biodiversity in both habitats and animals.

The camp accommodates a maximum of twenty-two guests. There are twelve luxury East-Africa style safari tents with twin or double occupancy with an en suite bathroom and individual raised teak platforms with stunning views of the lagoon. Plus, there is also one luxury family tent featuring an en suite bathroom comprised of a shower, vanity and toilet, and second bathroom with shower, vanity and toilet. Other amenities include ceiling fans, dressing gowns, hair dryers, umbrellas, in-room safes, and battery-operated reading lights, desk light, and bathroom light for night use.

Camp Moremi is ideally situated on the edge of the Xakanaxa Lagoon in an area well known for its spectacular game-viewing opportunities. The delta’s grasslands, floodplains, and riverine forests are home to an unparalleled diversity of wildlife and wildfowl. The Moremi Game Reserve also enjoys a vast number of antelope, including impala, kudu, and waterbuck. It’s also a bird-watcher’s paradise for viewing the majestic fish eagle and vivid malachite kingfisher and even the rare Pel’s fishing owl. Prides of lion rest in the long grasses as herds of elephants graze nearby.

The camp’s most popular activity is of course the morning and afternoon 4×4 game drives led by expert guides that promise encounters with the Okavango wildlife including lion, cheetah, leopard, and wild dog. Camp Moremi also offers water activities including motorboat tours of the Xaxanaka lagoon and surrounding delta channels. The watery habitat is home to an incredible diversity of fowl as well as a large population of hippo.

The main camp is shaded from the African sun by a forest of tall Ebony trees. The timber and thatch main building houses the library, lounge, dining room, and bar. Two dining areas at the camp serve buffet-style food and can accommodate special dietary needs. Breakfast, brunch and high tea are served in the thatched boma, while dinners are served in the dining room. The secluded swimming pool, sun deck, and adjacent elevated viewing platform are an ideal spot to take in a picturesque sunset over the lagoon. There is also a curio shop for plenty of souvenirs. While there is no access to Wi-Fi or telephone, there is a guest computer in the lounge area.
