GocheGanas Wellness Village

PLAN MY TRIP

Just eighteen miles from Windhoek, GocheGanas Wellness Village is a luxury lodge that offers a spectacular combination of wellness and wildlife experiences in a beautiful natural setting.

Accommodations consist of sixteen luxurious suites. There are fifteen spacious Elegant Suites with a choice of twin or double rooms with a king-sized bed. Every suite features a comfortable, air-conditioned room with a television, minibar, and a private wooden deck. The en suite bathrooms come with double vanities, a shower, and separate toilet area. Ten of the suites even have a romantic outdoor shower. The Crown Suite can cater up to four people in two double bedrooms and has an upgraded bathroom with a shower and bath under skylight, as well as an outdoor shower. Connected by a timber deck, the suite is linked to a generous living and dining area with a couch-bed and en suite bathroom.

The lodge is located within the 14,826-acre GocheGanas Nature Reserve. The name means place of camel thorns. There are approximately 1,600 animals living in the Reserve including rhino, bat-eared fox, giraffe, mountain- and plains zebra, cheetah, jackal, leopard, blue and black wildebeest, eland, oryx, red hartebeest, kudu, springbok, waterbuck, steenbok, duiker, klipspringer, ostrich, and warthog. The landscape is typically highland savanna with some mountainous terrain. The region is dotted with trees like the mountain thorn, candle-pod acacia, black hook thorn, kudubush, wild pear, and the shepherd’s tree.

Early morning and late afternoon game drives explore the Nature Reserve with the help of experienced guides and in the comfort of 4×4 safari vehicles. The game drives stop half-way for snacks and drinks. Guests can also explore the area by renting mountain bikes and following the well-marked routes around the lodge. Of course, the biggest draw to GocheGanas is the Wellness Village. Guests can relax and partake in many relaxing treatments that combine all aspects of physical, mental, and spiritual well-being to realign mind, body, and soul. The Wellness Village has eleven treatment rooms with state of the art equipment such as a crystal bath, hydrotherapy bath, a vichy shower as well as a heated indoor pool, a cave sauna in a cathedral like masonry vault, a well-equipped fitness gym, fruit and juice bar.

Situated on a hillock, the main lodge area houses the Hilltop Restaurant and Bar which serves delicious and healthy fare. The lodge also has barbecue facilities, a library, conference center, and a business center. The spa is home to the heated indoor pool and there is also an outdoor pool with a view of the reserve.
