Namibia

Diverse Namibia Safari

PLAN MY TRIP

Rivaled only by the Great Namibian Journey, the Diverse Namibia Safari is perhaps the best safari package for experiencing the breadth and depth of Namibia.

From the stark beauty of the Sossusvlei dunes to the Skeleton Coast and the azure Atlantic to the rocky desert of Damaraland to the wildlife paradise of Etosha, this journey promises an astounding variety of sites and activities. Two people are required to start the journey with a maximum of seven. The nine night/ten day adeventure begins and ends with a flight into Windhoek International airport. Along the way explorers will experiences the diverse landscapes and places of interest of Namibia, including day and night nature drives, sea- and land-based wildlife viewing, flying, driving, and boating.

The first two nights are spent on the private Kulala Wilderness Reserve in the heart of the Namib Desert. Guests can experience the incredible landscape of Sossusvlei via day and night game drives and hikes as well as an optional early morning hot air balloon ride. After a half-day drive through winding canyons, travelers emerge onto the shores of the Atlantic and for the next two days explore the wonders of Namibia’s Skeleton Coast. The next segment of the quest explores the ancient and mysterious Damaraland, a rocky desert that is home to a surprising concentration of wildlife. In addition to day and night game drives, guests can explore the mountains, canyons, and ephemeral riverbeds on foot or mountain bike.

The final destination of this safari is the Ongava Game Reserve on the border of Etosha National Park. Not only does it house the world’s largest salt pan, the park remains the epicenter of Namibian wildlife.

Accommodations throughout the journey vary from safari camp tents to hotel rooms. The first two nights are spent in maxi dome tents on raised wooden platforms with en suite open-air bathrooms at the Kulala Adventure Camp. A true wilderness adventure, delicious meals are served around a camp fire as the sunset baths the sky in a rosy hue to match the red dunes of Sossuvlei. The next two nights will be enjoyed at the 100-year old Hansa Hotel, only steps from some of Swakoplund’s museum, lighthouse, Kristall Gallerie, and some delicious restaurants.

Then it’s onto the Damaraland Adventurer Camp for two nights in the maxi dome tents with their own small viewing deck for taking in the beauty of the Brandberg Mountains and sandstone hills. Finally, the last two nights take in the beauties of Etosha at Andersson’s Camp. A converted farmstead, the raised en suite tents look onto a productive waterhole. While on the journey most meals and drinks are provided with the exception of dinner on the second night at the Hansa Hotel.
