Namibia

The Olive Exclusive

PLAN MY TRIP

Living up to its mantra of “elegant, inspired, never formal,” the Olive Exclusive All-Suite Hotel is a dreamy boutique hotel that seamlessly blends traditional African charm with a modern edge.

Accommodations consist of seven unique suites representing different regions of Namibia. The three Junior Suites are set within their own private courtyards accessed by wide glass doors and furnished with a comfy daybed. Each luxury suite features a super-king-size bed or twin beds, a fireplace, a small lounge, and a dining room. Premium suites offer the welcome addition of a private plunge pool and sun loungers, the perfect escape from the heat of the day. Other amenities include fine linens, air-conditioning, high-definition satellite TV, computer with WiFi access, fully stocked mini-bar, and more. The en suite bathrooms come complete with a walk-in shower and a deep free-standing bath with candles, bath products, and under-the-floor heating for a luxury experience.

The hotel is quaintly hidden in a quiet area of Windhoek, Namibia’s capital city. Once a German colony, vestiges of Windhoek’s colonial heritage can be seen in the proliferation of German buildings scattered throughout the city. Frequently used as a jumping off place for Namibian safaris the city offers its own exciting sights such as Christuskirche, the old Lutheran church; the National Gallery of Namibia; the craft market in Post Street Mall; and the unique beer garden at Joe’s Beer House since the city is the brewing capital of the country.

For the more adventurous there are plenty of tours and day-trips available from Windhoek. There is horseback riding in the hills outside the city. While Katutours offers guided bike tours through the culturally and historically rich township of Katutura near Windhoek. The Hofmeyer Walk is an impressive trail through the Klein Windhoek Valley and takes hikers through the bushland for spectacular views of the city and a chance to see the aloe plants whose blooms attract many bird species. A small capital city by global standards, it is growing by leaps and bounds and known as a very clean city.

An eco-friendly boutique hotel, its interiors are contemporary and stylish, but still reflect the warmth and hospitality of its authentic African soul. African curios and dramatic photographs surround the bar, lounge, and main dining area. The hotel boasts a quality restaurant featuring a seasonal menu with creative signature dishes. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner can be enjoyed either inside the relaxed interior or outside on the terrace with lovely views of the surrounding mountains ringing the city. The central pool is the cool place to be during the heat of the day. Massages are available upon request.
