Wolwedans Mountain View Suite

PLAN MY TRIP

Perfect for honeymooners, Wolwedan’s Mountain View Suite is an exclusive, secluded property located near enough to Dunes Lodge to be comfortable yet enjoy ample privacy.

The suite consists of a spacious bedroom with a king-size four-poster bed dressed in crisp white linens and a down duvet for those chilly nights. The spacious en-suite bathroom features two washbasins, a large shower, and toilet. The suite also boasts a shaded patio area with a hammock for lazy afternoons and an east-facing veranda and sundeck that lead from the platform into the surrounding dunes. A star-gazing bed is set on the main veranda for sleeping out under a blanket of stars during summer.

Set in the magnificent NamibRand Nature Reserve, this luxurious suite is constructed on 2,150 square feet square feet of timber decking that rises above the dunes. Covering an area of some 494,210 acres, the NamibRand Reserve is bordered by the Naukluft Park in the west and the impressive Nubib Mountain range in the east. The special attraction of the reserve is the diversity of desert landscapes.

Virtually all facets of the Namib are represented here. Mountains plunging down into endless grassy plains are interspersed by red vegetated dunes create a living tapestry of ever-changing colors and shapes that provide a visual feast for artists and photographers.

Experienced guides conduct scenic game drives and walking safaris along the ancient routes in the hunting grounds of the San Bushmen. This opens a window into the world of uniquely adapted desert flora and fauna. Game species found in the reserve include gemsbok, mountain and plains zebra, springbok, red hartebeest, bat-eared fox, spotted hyena, Cape fox, and African wildcats. The rockier areas are inhabited by kudu, klipspringer, baboon, and leopard, while the dunes are inhabited by a rich and diverse micro-fauna. Hot-air ballooning trips in this pristine area offers stunning desert views. While a champagne breakfast afterwards helps guests come back to earth gently.

Meals are prepared by a private chef in the open-kitchenette, and a personal butler will ensure all guest’s needs are met. Meals can also be enjoyed at the Dunes Lodge. Wolwedans is known for their excellent cuisine and most meals are paired with fine South African wines. The suites also come with a comfortable lounge, bar cabinet, and dining area.
