Serengeti Migration Camp

PLAN MY TRIP

Located next to the hippo-filled Grumeti River in the stunning Serengeti, Serengeti Migration Camp offers an authentic safari camp experience.

Accommodations at the camp consist of twenty luxurious and elevated canvas tents. These spacious tents are decorated in rich dark wood and comfortable leather furnishings set atop polished wood floors. Each tent features an en suite bathroom built with fixed wooden walls and doors. These spacious bathrooms each come with double basin vanities, a large hot shower, and flush toilet. Guests can enjoy panoramic views of the magnificent African bush from their large wrap-around veranda fitted with comfy chairs to relax in at the end of the day. Other amenities include a bathrobe and slippers, in-room electronic safe, fan, writing desk and stationery set, and internal telephone system.

Serengeti Migration Camp is situated in the north of the popular and world-famous Serengeti, the oldest national park in Tanzania. The camp is perfectly set up for witnessing the annual Great Migrations as millions of wildebeests, gazelles, and zebras move across to Kenya and back again. The Serengeti is also known for being home to the Big Five. The dramatic landscape was once formed by volcanic activity but now varies greatly from open grass plains in the south, savanna grasslands with scattered acacia trees in the center, hilly wood grasslands in the north to extensive woodland, and black clay plains to the west. In addition to which, the camp overlooks a kopje, a small hill, and sweeping plains across the Grumeti River.

There are several exciting activities to choose from at the camp. Guests can enjoy a morning, evening, or full day game drive with gourmet packed breakfasts and picnic lunches as they take in the drama of the Great Migration or spot a lion or elephant roaming the bush. Expert guides lead river bush walks along the Grumeti River, pointing out pods of grunting hippos and explaining what plants grown hereabouts are used for traditional medicines. The river provides an excellent spot for bird-watching enthusiasts. Hot-air balloon rides provide a 360-aerial view of the Serengeti as the Great Migration surges below. Bush meals and sundowner are also available.

The main tent and heart of the camp has a split-level lounge, a restaurant, and viewing platforms to take in the gorgeous scenery across the river and the rugged landscape beyond. The room rates include full board, accommodation, soft drinks, beer, house wines & selected spirits, safari activities including game drives, bush hamper breakfast or lunch, and sundowners. A refreshing pool with turquoise waters and excellent views of the bush is the perfect place to cool off after an adventure. Wi-Fi is accessible in the main area as well. Babysitting and laundry services are also available at the camp.
