Klein’s Camp

PLAN MY TRIP

Embracing luxurious vintage safari style in the expansive Serengeti, Klein’s Camp offers an exclusive Tanzanian safari experience.

Makuti thatch and local stone form each of the ten intimate cottages. Each cottage has rich wooden floors, classic interiors, and large, comfy beds. The en suite bathrooms feature double vanities, flush toilets, and walk-in stone showers. A private veranda provides breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and valley. For families, there is a family suite comprised of two spacious cottages connected by a private walkway. The family cottage can accommodate up to two adults and two children

The camp is located in its own private concession encompassing nearly 25,000 acres. It is perfectly set on a path of the annual great migration, a wildlife spectacle unlike any other in the world. During the annual migration, nearly 1,000,000 blue wildebeest span the Serengeti plains, along with hundreds of thousands of zebras and Thomson gazelles. Resident animals seen year-round include giraffe, buffalo, elephant, lion, cheetah, leopard, and numerous bird species including raptors, vultures, and eagles. The camp’s strategic location on the edge of the Kuka Hills provides breathtaking panoramic views of the wooded hillsides, rolling grasslands, game-rich marshes, and forested riverbanks below.

Twice-daily game drives in open 4×4 safari vehicles led by expert guides introduce guests to the wonders of this sanctuary in the magnificent Serengeti. Because of the camp’s location in a private concession, night drives provide an excellent opportunity to explore the nocturnal world of big cats and other predators. Interpretive bush walks led by experienced and armed trackers explore the bush at a slower pace, allowing glimpses of some of the smaller creatures and plants native to the area. Other adventures include a private safari, an authentic cultural Maasai boma visit, a photographic safari, and a fascinating birding safari.

With impressive natural stonework forming the centerpiece of the main lodge, the central area includes blazing fires in the large fireplace, rich furnishings, a beautiful bar and lounge, a sitting area, a sparkling pool, and a safari shop featuring locally made Maasai crafts. Memorable sundowners are enjoyed outdoors while fine dining takes place in the elegant dining room. An organic African garden known as a shamba provides many of the fresh ingredients carefully incorporated into each festive meal. For even more relaxation, in-room massages are available. For families with young kids, there are babysitting services available.
