Manyara Ranch Conservancy

PLAN MY TRIP

Ideal for an active visitor to Tanzania, the Manyara Ranch Conservancy offers 35,000 wildlife-rich acres to explore on foot, horseback, or open 4 x 4 safari vehicles.

Accommodations at the camp consist of eight luxury East African style tents. Each tent can be configured as a double, twin or triple upon request. The seven-foot beds are dressed in Egyptian linens. The en suite bathrooms come with running water, flush toilets, and rain-head showers. The tents are furnished with handcrafted furniture including a wardrobe, writing table, lockable wooden chests, hat stand, and ample lights. A private, shaded veranda sits under the shade of the acacia trees and faces the active waterhole.

his luxury tented camp is located between Tarangire National Park and Manyara National Park in the private Manyara Ranch Conservancy. The Conservancy lies within the Kwakuchinja wildlife migration corridor, home to over 50 species of mammals. Some of the wildlife typically spotted around Manyara Ranch includes lion, elephant, zebra, hyena, wildebeest, giraffe, and numerous birds and smaller mammal species. In addition to which, there are 350 species of birds spotted here. Additionally, just ninety minutes away is the world-renowned Ngorongoro Crater, an extinct volcano whose crater houses a vast array of wildlife.

Each day, acacia forests, riverine woodlands, and lush grasslands teeming with wildlife are just waiting to be explored. Guided safari walks are led by armed guides and provide an intimate and detailed look at the bush. Daily game drives in 4×4 vehicles have the opportunity to go off-road to follow the animals. Other highlights at Manyara Tented Camp include night game drives with a chance to see the nocturnal and elusive aardvark and bush babies. There is also horseback riding with herds of wildebeest and zebra. Game viewing from the camp’s hides are accompanied by sundowners and canapés. There are also day trips, fly camping, ranch operation visits, bush meals, and sundowners available.

The camp’s mess area is where everyone gathers for a meal, a drink, or a chance to chat. Delicious meals are prepared by the chef using locally sourced ingredients. The kitchen also bakes up fresh breads and buns. If the weather is good, breakfast is served outside under an acacia tree and dinner is set under the stars, all with a view of the animals visiting the local waterhole. At night, guests sit around the campfire with a drink and a canape and swap stories of the day’s adventures.
