Naona Moru Camp

PLAN MY TRIP

Located on an elevated plain next to the famous Moru kopjes, Naona Moru Camp is an intimate and luxurious camp on the southern plains of the Serengeti.

Accommodations at the camp consist of ten tented suites including one honeymoon suite. The spacious tents include a generous bedroom with comfortable double, twin, or triple beds dressed in crisp white linens and soft duvets while draped in mosquito netting. The en suite bathrooms feature twin sinks with elegant fixtures and a lighted vanity mirror, a shower, and a toilet. Decorated in natural shades and colorful rugs, the suites include a lounge area, Victorian desk, storage chests, and a wardrobe. The large shaded veranda is furnished with comfortable chairs and provides the ideal spot to relax and take in the beauties of the famous Serengeti plains.

The camp is located in the southern region of the Serengeti next to the Moru kopjes. Moru Kopjes is home to the remaining population of black rhinos in the Serengeti. Situated nearby is Gong Rock where a short walk leads to a series of Maasai paintings. To the east lies the saline Lake Magadi, where large groups of pink flamingos to gather on the water. Some of the wildlife living here includes waterbuck, lion, leopard, elephant, rock hyrax, impala, buffalo, topi, and baboon. Of course, the big draw to the region is the annual great migration when millions of wildebeests and thousands of zebras and Thomson’s gazelles flock to the Serengeti in search of new pastures.

For an additional fee, a hot air balloon safari provides an aerial view of the Serengeti plains and are followed by a champagne breakfast in the bush. There are also cultural tours available to local villages and schools.

The main area of camp houses the dining room, small lounge, bar, and library. The camp runs on solar power. Battery charging facilities and Wi-Fi are available. Meals are served in the mess tent.
