Located on a lush, working coffee farm on the edge of Tanzania’s beautiful Arusha National Park, Legendary Lodge is a luxury boutique hotel.

Each of the six garden cottages at this unique sanctuary features spectacular views of Mount Meru from a private veranda. Each cottage is furnished with a stylish blend of African art and old colonial furnishings. These elegant rooms come with a comfortable, king-size bed, separate lounge area with a cozy fireplace, and an en-suite bathroom with a deep tub and refreshing shower. A two-bedroom cottage is ideal for families travelling together. Other amenities include personal mini-bar, hair dryer, in-room safe, and complementary fruit baskets.

The lodge is located on the outskirts of Arusha within the foothills of Mount Meru. The city of Arusha, known as the safari capital, offers several cultural experiences including the Museum of Natural History, Tanzanite Museum, Maasai Market, and local cultural center. Another thrilling day trip takes guests to the Ngorongoro Crater, a large unflooded volcanic caldera which is 2,000 feet deep and 100 square miles across. This massive natural enclosure is home to vast herds of plains game along with accompanying predators such as lion and hyena.

Animal-lovers should visit Arusha National Park. The 212-square mile park includes a montane forest which is home to the blue monkey, turaco, trogon, black and white colobus monkey, buffalo, warthog, and more. In the center of the forest stands the remarkable Ngurdoto Crater, whose steep, rocky cliffs enclose a wide marshy floor dotted with herds of buffalo and warthog. The more active guests, can partake in mountain biking around the plantation or a game of tennis or squash. There are even tours of the coffee farm for an aromatic look at how the world’s morning cup of java goes from coffee bean to the rich brew in a cup.

Traditional African craftsmanship blends with old-world style resulting in luxurious ambiance throughout the lodge and the surrounding garden cottages. The Old Farmhouse is the hub of activity at Legendary Lodge, with a cozy guest lounge and dining room. Colonial elegance surrounds guests as they savor delectable meals in the Old Farmhouse dining room. While the Legendary Therapies Spa has a wide menu of relaxing treatments available to be enjoyed in either in the well-appointed therapy room or in the privacy of a guest cottage.
