Kusini Kopjes Kambi

PLAN MY TRIP

Perched atop an ancient kopje, Kusini Kopjes Kambi is a luxury safari camp overlooking the game-rich plains of the Serengeti.

Coming in 2018, the camp will consist of twelve tented suites including one honeymoon suite. Each luxurious suite houses a cozy lounge with comfortable couches and a coffee table, a dressing area with handcrafted cupboards, a net-draped king-size bed with bedside tables and lamps, a writing desk with a shaped chair, a full-length wall mirror, and soft carpets over hardwood floors. The en suite bathroom comes with a glass-walled shower, double vanity sinks, a flushing toilet, a luxurious bath tub, and a door to the outdoor rain shower. A private wooden deck with natural outdoor furniture is the ideal spot to relax and absorb the beauties of the Serengeti.

The camp is located on the southern plains of the world-famous Serengeti. The ancient kopjes or granite hills support many of species of wildlife from predators like lions and cheetahs looking for a good vantage point to smaller animals like shrew, insects, and lizards. The raised elevation not only allows for panoramic views of the plains but a cool breeze during the afternoon. Other animals living here include giraffes, rhinos, buffalo, warthog, ostrich, jackals, wild dogs, hippos, and long-crested eagles.

Game drives are offered twice daily and conducted by knowledge guides and trackers through the central Serengeti. There are also private family safaris available for those guests traveling with young children. For an even more intimate look at the local flora and fauna, the camp has guided walking safaris. Led by an armed walking guide, these informative nature walks follow the animal tracks and the various uses of native plants during dawn and dusk before the real heat of the day. For an additional fee, a hot air balloon safari provides an aerial view of the Serengeti plains and are followed by a champagne breakfast in the bush. There are also cultural tours available to local villages and schools.

The camp runs on solar power and is positioned at different areas around the Serengeti at different parts of the year. Battery charging facilities and Wi-Fi are available. Meals are served in the dining tent. Otherwise boxed lunches are included on game drives and there is always the option for a bush breakfast, lunch, or dinner. A family-friendly property, children ages 5 and up are welcome.
