Following the Great Migration Lamai Wedge to the Serengeti, Kimondo Migration Camp is a beautiful mobile camp offering an authentic safari experience.
Accommodations at the camp consist of nine elegant and spacious canvas tents. Each tent features a comfortable cast-iron king-sized bed with twin beds available upon request. The private en suite bathrooms come with hot and cold running water, safari bucket shower, and a flush toilet. Providing the perfect spot for a rest between adventures, the tents also include a private, shaded veranda with an open view of the magnificent savanna. Other amenities include an in-room lock box, charging facilities, and complimentary laundry service.
Because of its nomadic status, Kimondo Migration Camp enjoys two magnificent locations. From July to October, the camp is situated in the northern Serengeti on the famous Lamai Wedge, a golden triangle of grassland between the Mara River and the Kenyan border. The Lamai Wedge provides a gathering point for the wildebeest and antelope migrations in winter and their pursuing predators. The camp is only a short drive from dramatic scenes of Nile crocodiles snapping at the herds as they cross the shallows of the Mara River. From December to March, the camp pitches its luxury tents in the Southern Serengeti as the herds stop to graze in the sweet grasslands. This is where the wildebeest come to rest and calve before continuing their migration back to Kenya. Of course, there are plenty of other animals to see like lions, leopards, zebra, elephants, hyena, and rhinos to mention a few.
