Breezes Beach Club & Spa

PLAN MY TRIP

The family-owned Breezes Beach Club & Spa is an award-winning resort on the romantic island of Zanzibar.

The standard rooms enjoy lovely terrace and garden views and includes two comfy beds, an en suite bathroom, a fridge, in-room safe, hair dryer, and a sofa bed. The deluxe rooms have the same amenities but are located on the ground floor with a terrace decorated with cotton throws and teak wood finishes. The suites are located on an upper floor with a large balcony and sunbed for lounging and enjoying the sea views. They also enjoy larger rooms with a walk-in dressing room and a spacious bathroom.

The hotel is located on the south-east coast of the exotic spice island of Zanzibar. Once the world’s largest producer of cloves, this spice island also provided nutmeg, cardamon, and cinnamon to Europe, the Middle East, and China for over 500 years. Originally founded by Africans, the island was discovered by the Persians in the 10th century. Since then it has had a strong Arabic influence. The sultan of Oman even relocated his capital here. Zanzibar is an archipelago with two main islands: Unguja and Pemba. In front of white sandy beaches, dhows sail across the clear, turquoise waters as fishermen still ply their trade.

The hotel takes full-advantage of its island setting and offers many water sports. The Rising Sun Dive Center is the only PADI Five Gold Palm and National Geographic Dive Centre in Zanzibar. Experienced instructors teach all levels in scuba diving. In addition, there is also snorkeling, sailing, wind surfing, kayaking, paddle boarding, kite surfing, biking, and volleyball available. Island tours explore the Jozani Forest, home of the endangered Zanzibar Red Colobus. Dolphin tours even provide the opportunity to swim with these highly intelligent creatures. For some more culture, the hotel offers a Stone Town tour to see the House of Wonders, Sultan’s Palace, spice markets, and other historic sites.

A selection of fine dining restaurants is available at the resort. The Salami Dining Room offers generous buffet breakfasts, four course dinners and theme evenings. The Sultan’s Table is a fusion of delicious Indo-Swahili cuisine. Breakers Grill is the place for a beachfront lunch with barbecue and seafood catch of the day. And Tides uniquely offers intimate beachfront dining for two. Within the resort grounds there is a swimming pool with a poolside bar/restaurant, tennis courts, a fitness center, Frangipani Spa, and a kid’s club. The hotel has just won Trip Advisor’s Top 4 Luxury Hotels in Tanzania for 2017.
