Sanctuary Serengeti Migration Camp

PLAN MY TRIP

A small and intimate mobile camp that sets up in different areas of the Serengeti throughout the year, Sanctuary Serengeti Migration Camp offers comfortable accommodations, personalized service, and a front row seat to the Great Migration.

There are ten luxury safari tents Each comfortably furnished tent has a lounge area and cozy bed. The en suite bathrooms feature an indoor bucket shower, sink, and flush toilet. A personal attendant caters to every need as well as filling the bucket shower with the perfect temperature water. A shaded veranda invites guests to relax and enjoy the views of the spectacular Serengeti savanna. Additional amenities include a hair dryer, plug points, safe, complimentary laundry service, and tea and coffee.

The mobile camp follows the herds and is the perfect place to witness not only the annual Great Migration but the calving season, which occurs January – March. During this time, some 400,000 calves are born while the herds reside in the Southern Serengeti region with their corresponding predators following in eager pursuit of a meal. The Serengeti is famed for being home to the Big Five: lion, buffalo, elephant, rhino, and leopard. The landscape of the Serengeti was originally formed by volcanic activity but now varies greatly from open grass plains in the south, savannah grasslands with scattered acacia trees in the center, hilly wood grasslands in the north to extensive woodland, and black clay plains to the west. There is plenty of bird life here including woodpeckers and brightly colored kingfishers.

Daily game drives in the morning and afternoon are conducted in comfortable 4×4 safari vehicles and led by expert guides and trackers who know every inch of the park and where the herds of the great migration and the other species can be found. Full day game drives can be booked as well.Bird watching is a popular pastime with over 500 recorded species found here. A sundowner allows guests to enjoy a refreshing drink or a signature cocktail and scrumptious cocktail snacks while watching an unforgettable sunset surrounded by the natural beauties and animals of the Serengeti. For an additional fee, a hot air balloon ride provides an aerial view of the savanna and its wildlife.

At the heart of the camp, the main area includes a communal dining area, bar, and cozy lounge with comfortable couches and wide-open views of the savanna.Guests can also dine al fresco with a bush breakfast, lunch, or dinner. From June to July, the camp is set up in the western Serengeti, the Northern Serengeti from August to November, and the Southern Serengeti from December to March.
