Kitirua Plains Lodge

PLAN MY TRIP

Opening 1 June 2026 – Kitirua Plains Lodge, Amboseli, Kenya.

Sixty years after Geoffrey Kent helped define the modern luxury safari, A&K Sanctuary returns to Kenya’s heartland with a striking new lodge at the edge of Amboseli National Park. Set within a 128-acre private concession near the Tanzania border, Kitirua Plains Lodge offers a bold new take on safari style – architecturally daring, quietly luxurious, and perfectly in tune with its surroundings.

The lodge features 11 organically shaped standalone suites and two expansive two-bedroom suites, along with inviting communal spaces – a lively boma, serene wellness sanctuary with spa treatment rooms, gym, and a pool gazing straight towards Mount Kilimanjaro. Each space draws inspiration from the traditional Maasai way of life, with handcrafted Kenyan mango-wood furniture, cypress decking, woven-rush textiles, and sculpted metalwork celebrating the region’s artisanal heritage. Contemporary, understated interiors keep the focus firmly on the panoramic vistas.

And what vistas they are – classic Out of Africa scenes unfold before you: elephants crossing emerald marshes, acacia forests shimmering in the light, and endless savannah rolling towards the Tanzanian border.

Opening alongside new A&K Philanthropy initiatives, Kitirua Plains Lodge reflects a continued commitment to conservation and community empowerment. It joins Olonana in the Maasai Mara and Tambarare in Ol Pejeta Conservancy as part of A&K’s Kenya portfolio.

Just 30 minutes from the local airstrip and 10 minutes from Amboseli’s main gate, Kitirua Plains Lodge is now taking bookings for June 2026. Be among the first to experience Amboseli like never before.
