Ngare Serian

PLAN MY TRIP

Snugly situated on the banks of the Mara River in the exclusive Mara North Conservancy, Ngare Serian is a cozy little safari camp with all the charms of home.

Accommodations consist of four spacious tents set on hardwood decking above the beautiful Mara River. Each boutique style tent is fitted with a romantic Zanzibar four poster bed. This cozy camp is ideal for families or small groups. An adjoining bush bathroom features a flush toilet, shower, and hot and cold running water. Not only do the decks overlook the river with stunning views of the Oloololo Escarpment, they also include a luxurious bathtub built right into the deck itself.

Ngare Serian occupies 1,500 private acres of exclusive conservation area within the Mara North Conservancy. There are only eleven-member camps within the Mara North Conservancy, a private wilderness within the north-western area of the Maasai Mara ecosystem of Northern Kenya. Bordering on the Maasai Mara National Game Reserve in the South of Kenya, the Conservancy is a non-for-profit company with a strong commitment to protecting the wildlife and the environment. The M.N.C. boasts one of the most populated wildlife areas in the Maasai Mara with large numbers of wild plains game and, most famously, the big cats.

There are many exciting activities to choose from including a thrilling game drive in a private 4WD vehicle led by an expert guide and a spotter with a chance to see 95 species of mammals including two million wildebeest, zebra, Thomsons gazelle, and 570 species of birds. Night drives capture the nocturnal antics of many animals. For a more up-close and personal look at the exclusive wilderness, the camp offers guided bush walks with a knowledgeable local guide. Anglers will enjoy some fishing on the Mara River. While, a visit to The Nest lets guests sleep in a tree-house or use it for a picnic perched over the wildlife below.

This darling, little camp can only be reached by foot over a narrow rope bridge skirting across the Mara River. Meals are enjoyed family style in either the intimate dining room or on the lawn by the water. The camp enjoys 24hour electricity powered by solar energy and a generator. At night, guests are invited to relax around the campfire and discuss the day’s adventures or swap stories while taking in the vast, breathtaking night sky.
