Olonana – Geoffrey Kent Suite

PLAN MY TRIP

The elegant and exclusive Geoffrey Kent Suite at Sanctuary Olonana provides an ultra-luxury retreat within the wilds of the awe-inspiring Maasai Mara Reserve.

The secluded suite comes with two beautiful, free-flowing en suite bedrooms with king beds and an additional connecting bedroom for children with twin beds. The spacious en suite bathrooms feature deep, free-standing bathtubs, a double vanity, and large rain showers. Every room is bathed in light from the floor to ceiling windows overlooking the magnificent bush. The suite is accessed via a private road.

The suite is part of Sanctuary Olonana which sits on a private stretch of the Mara River within the game-rich Maasai Mara. Well-known for its vast diversity of wildlife, the Maasai Mara Reserve is “Big Five” country where elephant, rhino, lion, leopard, and buffalo roam freely. Of course from July to September, most people come to watch the great migration as millions of wildebeest and thousands of zebra and Thomsons gazelle seek new pastures between Tanzania and Kenya. There are also 300 bird species living in the region as well as antelope, bat-eared foxes, crop-eared caracal, and many more.

One of the best ways to view these incredible creatures in their natural environment is to join a game drive led by Olonana’s experienced guides. The Geoffrey Kent Suite includes a private safari vehicle and guide so games drives are scheduled at their convenience. The open safari vehicles allow for excellent viewing, photography, and filming opportunities. Other exciting activities include cultural visits to a local Maasai village and school. Nature walks take a more intimate look at the flora and fauna with the help of a knowledgeable local guide. Sundowners, bush breakfasts, picnics, and dinners can be enjoyed surrounded by the stunning natural setting of the Maasai Mara.

The suite features its own private lounge fitted with comfortable, modern furniture and specially commissioned African art. An in-suite chef dishes up delicious, freshly prepared meals that are served in the sophisticated private dining room. There is a fully-stocked bar with premium drinks which can be enjoyed on the wraparound deck overlooking both the infinity pool and the dramatic views of the gorgeous Maasai Mara. Guests of the suite can also access the main lodge area which overlooks the incredible Mara River, home to a pod of very active hippos. Other amenities of the property include a library, a refreshing pool, and a mini-spa featuring a combination of traditional African remedies and French marine therapies.
