Kenya

Sirikoi

PLAN MY TRIP

Overlooking a natural waterhole in Kenya’s spectacular Lewa WIldlife Conservancy, Sirikoi Lodge is a family run safari lodge devoted to eco-friendly practices and their guests' comforts and enjoyment.

The four luxury tented rooms look across the lawns to the waterhole. Each tent comes with a large double bed or two singles and features an en suite bathroom with a shower and a bath. Guests can relax around the cozy fireplace or on the outside veranda. For families or groups, the Sirikoi Cottage has two bedrooms, each with their own bathroom. A shared central area with a small kitchen links the bedrooms and leads out onto a spacious deck. The grandest accommodation is Sirikoi House which includes a master-bedroom cottage, a separate bedroom cottage with two en-suite bedrooms, and a central living and dining cottage. Plus, it is only sold on an exclusive use basis and comes with its own private safari vehicle and guide, as well as chef and team of staff.

The lodge is located in the beautiful Lewa Wildlife Conservancy on the Northern slopes of snow-capped Mt Kenya. The 62,000-acre protected area boasts an exceptional diversity of wildlife and beautiful countryside from open plains, rolling hills, valleys, escarpments, and rivers. Lewa is a magical place to observe the beauties of Kenya and her wildlife. Several endangered species call the area home, including black and white rhino, Grevy’s zebra, and sitatunga. Prolific plains game, predators, and other animals such as elephant and wild dogs are often sighted by guests.

Game drives with a skilled guide are the best way to track lion, hyena, rhino, and many other animals. A visit to the nearby Ngare Ndere Forest begins with a game drive and continues with a ranger-led walk to a lovely pool feed by a waterfall. For an “Out of Africa” experience, guests can take a Waco bi-plane ride modeled after the 1920-version that authoress, Karen Blixen flew in with Denys Finch-Hatton. Other activities include helicopter tours of Mt. Kenya and Magado Crater, horse and camel rides, and quad bike trips through the Northern Frontier District.

The eco-friendly and award-winning property owned by Willie and Sue Roberts prides itself on its solar power and environmentally conscious practices. The lodges beautiful, organic gardens and orchards grow over sixty types of fruits and vegetables and are used in the delicious meals served here. They even have free-range chickens. The main lodge houses a comfortable lounge and dining room. While the refreshing pool overlooks the acacia tree dotted lawn. Children are welcome and enjoy their own activities and a shallow kid’s pool adjacent to the main pool.
