Accommodations at the camp consist of eight spacious tented rooms. For the ultimate bespoke adventure, every room includes an Elewana Guest Ambassador. Each airy tent is custom-designed with elegant art and furnishings as well as large floor to ceiling windows and doors for unparalleled views of the Laikipia Plains. The rooms include a cozy lounge area with chairs and a writing desk. The en suite bathroom comes with a rainfall shower with solar-heated water, a double vanity, and a flush toilet. However, the best feature of each tent is the shaded veranda where guests can relax on the double sunbeds and soak in the natural beauty.
The camp is perfectly located within the 57,000 acre Loisaba Conservancy. The sprawling Conservancy which also includes a working ranch sits on the western edge of an important elephant corridor where around 800 elephants pass through. The nearby Laikipia Plains is home to one of Kenya’s largest lion populations. Overall, over 50 species of mammals roam throughout the Conservancy including buffalo, endangered Grevy’s zebras, kudu, reticulated giraffes, leopards, cheetahs, and wild dogs. Bird lovers can revel in the over 250 bird species found hereabouts.
Each tent has its own dedicated safari vehicle and field guide who leads daily game drives to explore the wonders and beauties of the Loisaba tracker. Traditional Samburu guides lead guided walks for an intimate and informative look at the local flora, fauna, and history. Depending on the rain, anglers can enjoy some fishing in the local dams and rivers. Horseback riding and camel safaris provide a unique view of the landscape and wildlife. Thrill seekers can indulge in some adrenaline pumping mountain biking around the region. Guests can even visit the anti-poaching team of dogs and handlers to learn more about the Conservancy’s work to protect the local wildlife.
The communal area of the camp houses a restaurant and bar with spectacular views of the wide, sweeping Laikipia plains. The camp’s refreshing pool is the ideal place to relax after a thrilling afternoon adventure. Laundry service is complimentary. An eco-friendly property, the camp and Conservancy supports the local Samburu and Maasai tribes who are full partners in the Conservancy. In addition to which, the working ranch conducts vital wildlife research and practices sustainable land use.
