Kicheche Mara

PLAN MY TRIP

Kicheche Mara is an intimate, tented safari camp located within the privately-managed Mara North Conservancy, adjacent to the renowned Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya.

The camp is tucked into an acacia-tree-lined valley beside the seasonal Olare Orok Stream, offering views over wildlife habitat and a sense of immediate access to nature.

Accommodation comprises eight to ten well-spaced tents, each with ensuite bathroom facilities, private verandas, and natural-material furnishings. The camp is unfenced, allowing wildlife to move freely and offering game-viewing opportunities often starting from within the camp perimeter.

Guests can choose from a range of activities including early-morning and late-afternoon game drives in modified 4×4 safari vehicles, guided walking safaris in the conservancy, and optional overnight stays in a fly-camp for a more immersive wilderness experience. Cultural excursions to local Maasai village settings are also offered.

The camp places emphasis on sustainability and community involvement, employing local guides and supporting educational and health initiatives through its affiliated trust.

With relatively low guest capacity and the location inside a private conservancy, Kicheche Mara offers a safari experience that balances comfort and wilderness in one of East Africa’s key wildlife ecosystems.
