Tembo Plains

PLAN MY TRIP

Tembo Plains, meaning "Elephant Plains" is built on the edge of the Zambezi River, in the private Sapi Reserve, just east of Zimbabwe's Mana Pools National Park.

Tembo Plains is a small and exclusive camp with just four tented rooms and two two-bedroom tented suites. Each unit features a private indoor lounge area, swimming pool, veranda, and outdoor dining area. All rooms offer exceptional views of the Zambezi River, allowing you to watch hippos and elephants from the comfort of your room.

Tembo Plains’ design is a unique combination of canvas and stone walls, an architectural style not seen regularly in African lodges. Outside the room this stone wall continues along the back of the guest accommodation, affording guests greater privacy while leaving uninterrupted views of Zambezi River flowing just meters away.

Sapi Reserve is on the eastern boundary of Zimbabwe’s Mana Pools National Park, which is a wildlife conservation area and national park in northern Zimbabwe. Wild dog, lion, and leopard are common around Tembo Plains, while elephant and buffalo are regularly seen up and down the river (and often swimming in the river!).

Enjoy the privacy of a safari in a wildlife-rich sanctuary along the Zambezi River. Here you don’t have to worry about anything except how best to soak up every moment. Your safari includes everything, day and night wildlife-viewing drives, boating, canoeing, and guided walks.
