Linkwasha Camp

PLAN MY TRIP

Situated in a private concession in Hwange National Park, Linkwasha Camp is an open and airy, luxury property overlooking a game-rich plains and pan.

Accommodations at the camp consist of eight elegant tents and one family tent. These spacious, canvas tents come with two three-quarter beds. The en suite bathroom includes a double vanity, flush toilet, and shower. Each tent has a comfortable lounge area decorated in African textiles and fabrics complete with a cozy couch. There is also a private deck, the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the views. The family tent consists of two rooms, a bedroom and living area which can be converted into a second bedroom. It also has two bathrooms, one with a bathtub and one with a shower. Additional amenities include a fan, bathrobes, umbrella, and vanity kit.

The camp is set in the private Hwange National Park. At 3.4 million acres, Hwange National Park is the largest game reserve in Zimbabwe with varied habitats and vegetation types. In fact, the pan just outside the camp’s doorstep is a big wildlife draw. Animals frequently encountered in the Park includes lion, large herds of elephant, buffalo, cheetah, leopard, spotted hyena, giraffe, sable antelope, blue wildebeest, impala, waterbuck, and reedbuck. In summer, wildebeest, zebra and eland herds are found in abundance on the open plains. While in winter, elephants assemble in enormous numbers around the waterholes. A bird watcher’s paradise, there are some 400 species in the Park. The camp is also close by the famed Ngamo Plains, which affords excellent game viewing year-round.

There are plenty of exciting activities to choose from at the camp. Daytime game drives are conducted by expert guides in comfortable safari vehicles with excellent chances of spotting wildlife like wildebeest, buffalo, cheetah, impala, and elephants. Nighttime game drives follow the nocturnal species such as lesser bush babies, spotted hyena, leopard, lion, Selous mongoose, pangolin, caracal, porcupine, scrub hare, springhare, and even honey badger. Walking safaris offer an intimate and up-close view of the savanna and its varied flora and fauna led by an expert ranger. Four-hour tours take in one of the local villages for a cultural tour of the school and to learn about their rich traditions and way of life. The Star Bed nearby is an authentic and unique way to sleep out under the crystal clear African skies.

The main area of the camp includes various multi-level decks and a cozy winter lounge complete with a fireplace and library. They both enjoy pristine views over the abundant wildlife around the waterhole. The perfect place to cool off and unwind, shaded salas surround an inviting pool. While the bar offers cool drinks before dinner and a spot to sit back and swap stories.
