Zimbabwe

Pamushana Lodge

PLAN MY TRIP

Hidden in the heart of southeastern Zimbabwe is Singita Pamushana Lodge, one of only two private lodges on the Malilangwe Wildlife Reserve.

Accommodations at the lodge consist of six palatial suites and Malilangwe House, a
private five-bedroom villa. The spacious suites include four one-bedroom suites, one two-bedroom family suite, and one three-bedroom family suite. All the suites come with master bedrooms, an en suite bathroom with both an indoor and outdoor shower, a cozy double-sided fireplace, a mini-bar and fridge, a room safe, air conditioning, overhead fans, and private lounge. There is also a private game viewing deck with Swarovski spotting scope and plunge pool. The villa has the same amenities plus an infinity pool.

The lodge is located in the Malilangwe Wildlife Reserve which comprises over 100,000 acres of unspoiled wilderness, prolific with species of rare African animals including the endangered black rhino. The word malilangwe means call of the leopard, just one of the animals found in the park. The area has a diverse ecology with its magical sandstone outcrops, mopane forests, and majestic baobab trees. Giraffe, zebra, impala, wildebeest, sable antelope, Lichtenstein’s hartebeest, and buffalo live here as do their predators the lions, hyenas, and painted wild dogs. Just below Pamushana lodge, there is a lake that is home to hippos, crocodiles, terrapins, and monitor lizards as well as a variety of fish and water birds.

Daily game drives with professional guides and trackers are conducted in state of the art Land Cruisers. Night game drives use a spot to discover the nightly antics of many nocturnal animals like the elusive leopard. Guided safari walks are the best way to see the Reserve in detail and learn about the smaller flora and fauna missed from the vehicles. Anglers will enjoy fishing at the dam below the lodge. There are plenty of tiger tish, bass, tilapia, and catfish. Star-gazing safaris explore the heavenly bodies high above in the vast and clear African skies. Community visits take guests to local Shangaan villages to learn about their lives and traditions. There are also educational tours to view San Bushmen rock art dating back tens of thousands of years.

The main area houses a lounge with a television, a bar, and a dining room. Singita’s cellars are known to have some of the most sought-after private reserves and vintage wines in Africa. There are two swimming pools and a Jacuzzi as well as a gym and spa with a wide menu of pampering treatments. A family-friendly lodge, there are plenty of activities for the kids and babysitting services too.
