Latitude 15 Hotel

PLAN MY TRIP

Located amid the lovely tree-lined avenues of Lusaka, Latitude 15 Hotel is a charmingly modern and cosmopolitan hotel just twenty minutes from the city center.

The hotel offers thirty-two stylish and spacious guest rooms. The open and airy rooms are designed with both comfort and aesthetics in mind and furnished with soft linens, rich fabrics, and colorful artwork. Each room features plush beds, cozy sofas, a 32” flat screen television, Nespresso coffee machines, complimentary still and sparkling water, and free Wi-Fi. The en suite bathrooms come with walk-in showers and deep, full-sized baths. Perfect for families, the hotel also has three two-bedroom suites available that also include a kitchen.

The hotel is ideally located close to the airport and city center of Lusaka, the capital city of Zambia. The city was built on the site of a village named after its headman, Lusaka. As European settlers, mainly British, arrived in 1905, they began to expand the city and built a railway. In 1964, the city became the capital of the newly independent Republic of Zambia. Today it is one of the fastest growing city is Southern Africa with 1.7 million inhabitants calling it home. New restaurants and western-styled bars are cropping up all the time. The Vanilla Ice Cream Parlour boasts some of the best ice cream anywhere and Misty’s has live jazz and a hip lounge.

For a city of its size, there are not a huge amount of tourist attractions. But the Munda Wanga Environmental Park with its Wildlife Park and Sanctuary, Botanical Gardens, Recreational Village, and Environmental Education Center is a popular site. The sanctuary rescues many animals found in the illegal-pet trade and rehabilitates them with the goal of sending them back to the wild. Lilayi Lodge is a beautiful wildlife ranch with game drives and an excellent restaurant that hosts a Sunday buffet. The Cathedral of the Holy Cross is an elegant stained-glass and concrete Anglican church. For some shopping, Soweto Market is a modern covered market selling everything from food to used clothes. While, Kabwata Cultural Village is home to vendor selling African curios.

The hotel’s Latitude 15 Degrees Kitchen dishes up delicious and inventive meals featuring a host of international flavors paired with fine South African and European wines. There is also a lounge, bar, pool, and poolside terrace for guest’s comfort and delight. In addition, the hotel has a private member’s club called the The Other Side which offers a separate dining, drinking, networking and socializing den, a heated pool, a gym, a spa, a contemporary set of work spaces, and a series of music, art, fashion, business and party events.
