Just upstream from world-renowned Victoria Falls, Tongabezi is a welcoming and privately-owned retreat on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River.
The lodge has an extensive variety of cottages and houses catering to all guests and groups. The four River Cottages have high ceilings, giant bespoke wood, and glass windows and doors leading onto expansive pine decks. The five houses all have unique names and features including the Honeymoon House, Bird House, Tree House, Dog House, Nut House, and Garden House. Three of the houses sleep up to two people while the other two can accommodate up to five people in two en suite bedrooms. Each house has an en suite bathroom some with claw foot tubs. The private decks have inviting plunge pools to keep cool. A private valet sees to every need.
The camp is ideally located near Victoria Falls, one of the seven natural wonders of the world, it straddles the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. While Victoria Falls is neither the tallest nor widest waterfall in the world, its claim as the largest waterfall is based on its combination of width and height. Together, the two create the earth’s largest sheet of falling water. For decades, the falls have become increasingly popular with the newly built Victoria Falls Town and Victoria Falls Bridge. Nearby, Zambia’s Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park offers the region’s best game-viewing opportunities including Angolan giraffe, Grant’s zebra, warthog, sable, eland, Cape buffalo, impala, and other antelope.
