Papa’s Camp

PLAN MY TRIP

A remote escape in a scenic Ugandan national park, Papa's Camp delivers an unforgettable classic safari experience

With just five luxury tents nestled in a grove of fig trees, this camp offers an intimate safari experience in one of Uganda’s most beautiful national parks. With various bed configurations available, each tent includes an en suite bathroom, outdoor shower, private river views, and available butler services. Rapids of the Nile River can be heard just outside each tent and can be observed from each private veranda.

Located in a wild and remote region of Murchison Falls National Park, the camp cultivates a secluded and private atmosphere both on and off the property. The wilderness is home to lion, giraffe, antelope, and buffalo, as well as diverse bird and plant life. Hippo, waterbuck, and the huge Nile crocodile make the waterways and the river their home. At night, animals like leopard and mongoose become much more active. In the dry season, the riverbanks near the camp attract a huge variety of wildlife looking for water.

Classic safari game drives each morning and evening expose guests to the flora and fauna of the national park, as well as closer views of the river. Night game drives showcase a completely different landscape, alive with unique nocturnal creatures. To soak in the smaller things often missed from a vehicle, guests can explore on guided walking safaris. Guests can fish in the countless waterways surrounding the camp or take a relaxing boat cruise along the Nile.

Meals are available on the property in communal dining areas, in the bush after a game viewing trip, or under the stars along the riverbank. The camp is named after Ernest “Papa” Hemingway, who survived two plane crashes in the area and loved to explore the beautiful wilderness of central Uganda.
