Hotel No. 5 is a tranquil boutique hotel in the lush suburbs of Entebbe that prides itself on its dedicated attention to detail and customer service.

Every room opens up onto the hotel’s beautiful pool and verdant lawns ensuring everyone gets the best view. There are ten luxury rooms to choose from including five twin rooms and five double rooms. Each spacious, air-conditioned room includes a sitting area and an en suite bathroom with a shower. In addition, the hotel has five luxury apartments that are spread over two floor and consist of a downstairs living room and open-plan kitchenette and an upstairs bedroom with a balcony. For families or groups, The Residence is a charming, standalone house with two bedrooms, a large living room, a fully equipped kitchen, and a full-time staff to oversee every need.

The hotel is located in a quiet suburb of Entebbe, Uganda’s second largest city. Set on the shores of Lake Victoria, it is a city with a rich history. The city’s name means seat in Luganda as it was once the judicial seat of a Baganda chief. In 1893, It became a British administrative and commercial center. In addition to which, its airport was once the scene of a dramatic rescue of 100 hostages following a hijacking by Palestinian and German militia in 1976 as well as being the airport Queen Elizabeth II flew out off upon hearing the news of her father’s death as she assumed her new role as monarch.

There are many things to see and do in Entebbe. The National Botanical Gardens of Uganda has been located here since 1898. It’s rainforest section even formed the backdrop for Johnny Weissmuller’s Tarzan. The Uganda Wildlife Education Center, commonly known as the Entebbe Zoo opened in 1952 to house sick, injured, orphaned, and illegally traded animals. Now it’s both a traditional zoo and conservation and education center. The State House, the official residence of the President of Uganda is here too. Plus, it serves as a great jumping off place for exploring the rest of Uganda, especially Lake Victoria, the world’s largest tropical lake and home to the Nile crocodile as well as hippopotamus, African clawless otter, spotted-necked otter, marsh mongoose, sitatunga, bohor reedbuck, defassa waterbuck, cane rats, and giant otter shrew.

The hotel’s restaurant dishes up a range of local and international cuisines paired with an international wine list. For added relaxation, guests can unwind with a pampering spa treatment or burn off some of those delicious meals in the hotel’s gym. However, the best place to be might just be poolside with a drink after a refreshing afternoon swim.
