Erebero Hills

PLAN MY TRIP

Coming early 2026, Erebero Hills combines sustainable luxury with the thrill of observing one of the world’s most endangered species in their natural habitat.

Erebero, meaning “a place where you can see far”, will be set amidst 45 acres of reforested land adjacent to one of the world’s most biologically diverse areas: the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in Uganda.

Bwindi is a massive rainforest that provides the perfect habitat for more than 300 mountain gorillas. At an altitude of between 3,500 and 8,500 feet, the park is regarded as one of the most biologically diverse forests in Africa. In addition to the primate populations, the park is home to 120 mammal species including duiker, elephant, bushbuck, bush pig, giant forest hog, and several small cat species, such as the elusive golden cat. There are also eleven primate types such as black and white colobus, red-tailed and blue monkey, and chimpanzee living here.

The lodge will be built entirely from bamboo featuring organic shapes derived from the surrounding nature. Offering 8 well-appointed suites, each with its own spacious balcony, an indoor/outdoor shower, in-room Wi-Fi and in-room spa treatments, guests can enjoy sweeping forest views beside a roaring fire in the lounge, or from the hillside swimming pool.

In the lodge’s advantageous location – a 90-minute drive from Kihihi, the closest airstrip – our guests will have ease of access to a range of activities, including, of course, gorilla trekking, nature walks exploring the pristine beauty and ecosystem of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest as well as community visits, bead working and weaving with one of the oldest indigenous groups in Africa: the Batwa people.

Erebero Hills vision is to change the view across this land, restoring large tracts of native vegetation, allowing a deep forest to rise from the hills around the national park once more, and expand this vital ecosystem to benefit both people and nature.
