Located on the white, sandy shores of Lake Malawi, Chintheche Inn offers up plenty of fun activities as well as relaxing tropical escape.

Accommodations at the inn consist of comfortable and brightly-furnished room. There are eight twin bedded rooms and one double bedded room. There is even a family room made up of two inter-joined rooms with a shared bathroom as well as two separate access doors leading to the beach. Each room has its own dazzling beach-view down to the lake’s clear, sparkling waters.

The inn is ideally located on the northern shores of Lake Malawi. The region is known for its palm-fringed beaches; lush, lowland tropical forests; and warm, clear waters. The calm lake is home to nearly a 1,000 species of colorful cichlids as well as over 2,000 species of freshwater fish. Lake Malawi is the world’s first freshwater national park and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is also Africa’s third largest and second deepest lake.

The lake’s calm and clear warm waters and plentiful fish make the ideal spot for snorkeling with equipment provided by the inn. For the more adventurous, the resort is PADI registered and offers beginner, advanced, and specialty courses scuba diving courses as well as gear for rent and casual dives. Guided kayaking trips are another way to explore the lake. There are eight mountain bikes available for exploring the lake and local fishing villages. Guided tours of the local villages provide even more insight into local life and culture. Nearby Kande horse riding stables cater to all skill levels and allows visitors a unique view of the local landscape and people. There are also day trips to the scenic harbor town of Nkhata Bay or south to historic Bandawe .

The inn has a colorful central dining area and bar. Although meals are often enjoyed outside under the stars or in a shady corner of the lush garden. There is also a large, refreshing pool. The gardens even feature a campsite
