There are many activities available. With the warm water of the Indian Ocean readily available, the resort offers a guided scuba experience with knowledgeable dive masters. There is also snorkeling, kayaking, boat trips, and fly-fishing available. Bird lovers will enjoy not only the many indigenous bird species including five endemics, namely Seychelles kestrel, Seychelles blue pigeon, Seychelles swiftlet, Seychelles sunbird, and Seychelles white-eye but a chance to island hop to Aride and Cousin to see their bird populations. Depending on the time of year, guests may witness hawksbill and green turtles laying their eggs on the beaches. Each villa includes its own island buggy for independent explorations of the island.
A lounge, dining room and library, scenically located health spa and gym, world-class dive center, and a rim-flow swimming pool are all built into a granitic outcrop. A rustic sunset bar and restaurant are tucked away on the western beach of the island just above the high-water mark. North Island has created a signature style that combines natural beauty with sheer luxury. It is no wonder that the 2006 Condé Nast Traveler Readers Awards voted it the ‘No 1 in the World – Best of the Best’.
