Madagascar

Miavana

PLAN MY TRIP

Perfectly positioned on the white sandy beaches next to the turquoise waters of the enchanting island of Madagascar, Miavana Resort is the island’s first five-star eco-luxury accommodation.

Accommodations at the resort consist of fourteen elegant and spacious villas. The décor reflects the natural beauty of the resort’s location with the elements of wood, water, and sand as their color palette. There are one, two, and three master bedroom suites available and come with an en suite bathroom featuring a low sunken tub with a view and outdoor showers. Each suite includes its own kitchenette, lounge, and private deck and pool overlooking the stunning Indian Ocean. The study can also be converted into an extra child’s bedroom. Guests have direct access to the beach from their villa and can snorkel right in front of their room.

In Malagasy, the word Miavana means to bring together. This beautiful resort is located in Nosy Ankao , the largest of five islands making up a reef-protected archipelago. It is part of a 37, 065-acre marine space within the Loky Manambato Protected Area. The villas are strung along the western side of the island. The island is home to the golden crowned sifaka, Perrier’s sifaka, and crowned lemur. It’s also the nesting place for turtles to lay their eggs before their hatchlings make the treacherous journey down the beach and back to the sea. A bird watcher’s paradise, the nearby deserted island of Manamphao is a popular spot for around 40 to 90,000 birds to flock to in June through until October.

There are plenty of activities to be enjoyed both on land, in the sea, and in the air. Day and night walks around the beaches and forest take in the beauty of the island and its wildlife. It also brings a chance to see turtles laying their eggs or the hatchlings taking their first steps down the beach. Water activities include kayaking the warm, azure waters of the Indian Ocean, as well as paddleboards, and kite surfing. There are plenty of fly and boat fishing opportunities with Bluefin, barracuda, giant trevally, and sail fish. Dolphin, mantra ray, and whale watching tours are a great way to see these animals at play in their natural habitat. Snorkeling and scuba are two great ways to take in the plethora of underwater life and magnificent coral reefs. While half-day helicopter safaris explore Ankarana and Amber National Parks.

The main piazza or village area of the resort has many great places to relax and eat. There is an infinity pool boasting gorgeous views of the ocean and a cozy lounge in turquoise and white. Dining options range from private meals in the beach pizzeria, lounge, and Italian-inspired grotto and cellar. Drinks with a view can be had on the rooftop bar. While in room pampering is available from the spa. Plus, the resort has its own museum.
