Topi House

PLAN MY TRIP

Set in a small thorn-tree forest between Olare Orok Conservancy and the Maasai Mara National Reserve, Topi House is a lovely and fully-serviced exclusive use house.

The perfect spot for families and groups, the house has three spacious en-suite bedrooms that are linked by a large veranda running along the front façade. Triple rooms are available upon request. The home comes with an experienced and dedicated staff consisting of a chef, a private guide, and a house manager to look after every need.

The house is perfectly situated in the Olare Orok Conservancy and adjacent to the stunning Maasai Mara Reserve. The Maasai Mara covers 583 square miles of rich grasslands and forests. The main draw to the region is the annual great migration when millions of wildebeest and thousands of zebras and Thomsons gazelles cross the plains in a search of new pastures. Of course, their natural predators are not far behind resulting in excellent chances of spotting lions, leopards, hyenas, and African wild dogs. Bird lovers can observe many of the 570 recorded bird species found hereabouts.

Several experienced Maasai wildlife guides are part of the staff and confidently lead guests into the bush in 4 x 4 vehicles, introducing them to the best the area has to offer. These game drives take place in the morning, afternoon, or night in order to see the greatest diversity of wildlife. Some wildlife often seen by guests are hippo, zebra, buffalo, impala, elephant, giraffe, and gazelle. Nature walks take a more intimate look at the flora and fauna. Other optional extras include hot air balloon rides, visits to the Mara Game Reserve, and visits to local villages, schools, and trading centers.

This charming house provides all the comforts of home. At the far end of the house is the living area, which is made up of an open-plan sitting and dining room complete with a cozy, open log fireplace. Meals are served in the dining room or on the veranda. Mornings begin with freshly baked bread and Kenyan coffee. Delicious picnic lunches accompany guests on game drives and other adventures, and gourmet dinners include a selection of fine wines. Night are enjoyed around the outdoor campfire under a starry sky.
