Acacia Bush House

PLAN MY TRIP

With perfect views of the busy Ol Chorro watering hole, Acacia Bush House is an exclusive-use home in Kenya’s beautiful Mara North Conservancy.

The perfect spot for families of small groups, accommodations at the house consist of two generous en-suite bedrooms and a third attic room designed with children in mind with its own separate bathroom. The spacious bathrooms feature showers and baths. This charming home comes with an experienced and dedicated staff consisting of a chef, a private guide, and a house manager to look after every need.

Acacia Bush House is ideally located deep in the breath-taking 70 000-acre Mara North Conservancy area, part of the greater Maasai Mara eco-system. Far from the beaten track, the house is tucked in the Ol Chorro Losoit Valley between the beautiful Lemek Hills. Plains game, elephant, and zebra graze on the nourishing grasses around Mara House. Of course, the predators are not far behind with lion, leopard, and cheetah spotted nearby. But the biggest draw to the area is the annual great migration when millions of wildebeest and thousands of zebras and Thomsons gazelle pass through the Conservancy looking for new pastures. Bird lovers can observe many of the 570 recorded bird species found hereabouts.

Several experienced Maasai wildlife guides are part of the staff and confidently lead guests into the bush in 4 x 4 vehicles, introducing them to the best the area has to offer. These game drives take place in the morning and evening in order to see the greatest diversity of wildlife. Many predator species including leopard, lion, striped and spotted hyena, cheetah, and wild dog inhabit the area. Other wildlife often seen by guests are hippo, zebra, buffalo, impala, elephant, giraffe, and gazelle. Nature walks allow for a more intimate examination of creatures both large and small in their natural habitats. Other optional extras include hot air balloon rides, visits to the rhino sanctuary, visits to the Mara Game Reserve, and visits to local villages, schools, and trading centers.

The large open-air veranda is perfectly positioned for watching all the wildlife happenings of the busy Ol Chorro waterhole. Leading off the veranda is a comfortable seating area with a cozy, log fire. Mornings begin with freshly baked bread and Kenyan coffee. Delicious picnic lunches accompany guests on game drives and other adventures. While gourmet dinners include a selection of fine wines from the cellar. A refreshing pool is shared with nearby Mara house.
