Serian’s Serengeti Mobile

PLAN MY TRIP

Providing an authentic and intimate safari experience, Serian’s Serengeti Mobile Camp offers simple and elegant accommodations while following the dramatic spectacle of the annual wildebeest migration.

There are four traditional safari-style tents and one tented suite to choose from at the camp. Each tent is simply furnished with enormous wrought-iron bed dressed in soft, cotton linens while sumptuous Moroccan rugs line the floor. The en suite bathroom is fitted with a traditional, bucket-shower and a flush toilet. For families, there is a tented suite available comprised of two individual tents joined by a communal living space. Every tent includes 240-volt power outlets for charging batteries and devices at any time of day.

From December to May, the camp can be found in its Kusini location on the edge of the short grass plains of the world-famous Serengeti. Kusini is ideally located near the game-rich Ngorongoro Conservation Area, as well as the Serengeti National Park. It is here that millions of wildebeest and thousands of zebras migrate looking for new pastures as well as a place to give birth. From June 15th to November 15th, the camp is located in the Lamai Wedge just opposite Crossing Point 4 where around 1.8 million wildebeest traverse the Mara River past snapping crocodiles. Of course, other predators such cheetahs, lions, leopards, and hyena follow hard on the hooves of this ample prey.

At both locations, the main activities center on the daily game drives. Conducted in an open-top safari vehicle and led by expert guides and trackers, the game drives are customized around the guest’s own time frame and desires. A climbing frame and specialized photography equipment are available as well for capturing that perfect shot. With the aid of a spotlight, night game drives illuminate the adventures of the nocturnal animals of the savanna. For a more intimate look at the world-famous Serengeti’s flora and fauna, guided walking safaris provide an insightful, once-in-a-lifetime experience. A fly camping adventure can also be incorporated into a stay at the camp.

The central mess tent is where everyone gathers for a communal, family-style meal made from simple yet delicious ingredients. Under the glow of candle light, guests can relax and share their day’s adventures with their fellow travelers. Of course, the camp’s small and intimate set up make it the perfect choice for small groups and families. Camp amenities include complimentary laundry service, charging stations, and 24-hour security.
