Serengeti House

PLAN MY TRIP

Located on the slopes of Sasakwa Hill in the expansive 350,000 acre Grumeti Reserve, Singita Serengeti House is an exclusive-use resort perfect for friends and family.

Luxury accommodations at the house consist of two suites in the main house and two garden suites with room for up to eight people. Each spacious suite is decorated in a delightful blend of European country designs and African artifacts and comes with comfortable beds available as a twin or double configuration. A large adjoining bathroom features a bath, inside and outside showers, and dressing room area. All bedrooms are equipped with air-conditioning, overhead fans, digital safe, hairdryer, television, bathroom amenities, and direct dial telephone. Plus, outside rooms have mini bar and a tea/coffee station.

The house is situated in the heart of the Serengeti in northern Tanzania which is known for a diverse group of habitats that includes riverine forests, swamps, kopjes, grasslands, and woodlands. Moreover, the world-famous Serengeti plains teem with wildlife, including vast herds of plains game, a plethora of predators, and the amazing sight of the annual wildebeest migration. Every year hundreds of wildebeests and thousands of zebras pass by on their northern progress from the Serengeti savannas to the plain of the Maasai Mara in Kenya. As part of an environmentally-conscious property group, the Singita Grumeti fund helps to re-establish species to their native environments. To date, they have reintroduced critically endangered black rhinos as well as African wild dogs.

A variety of exciting activities are available from the camp. Daily morning and evening game drives are all conducted in state-of-the-art Land Rovers, each accommodating a maximum of six guests. They are led by expert rangers with a great chance of seeing a variety of big game animals including cheetah, bearded wildebeest, bat eared fox, black rhino, giraffe, lion, elephant, buffalo, and leopard. Guided safari walks are led by a professional tracker and provide an intimate view of the savannah as well as a lesson in animal tracking. For families travelling with children, the camp hosts a variety of activities tailored to the younger crowd including archery, arts and crafts, astronomy, mini-ranger course, spa face painting, a private tennis court, and baking with a chef. Archery lessons with a professional compound bow are available for the grownups too.

The camp boasts an extensive wine cellar showcasing a premium selection of wines, including some of the continent’s most sought-after private reserves, including exclusive release, limited single vineyard, and rare auction wines. Personalized wine tastings are a popular choice with guests. The camp spa believes in a holistic and healing approach to treatments with a wide menu of relaxing options available. The large infinity swimming pool provides the perfect spot to cool off and relax and features spectacular views of the Serengeti plains. A gym at nearby Sasakwa Lodge is available for a workout with a view. The house also offers a private tennis court and pavilion. An all-inclusive property, the rates include accommodations, all meals and beverages with some exclusions, private guide, camp host, chef, and staff.
