Serengeti Bushtops

PLAN MY TRIP

A luxury oasis, Serengeti Bushtops provides a five-star safari getaway in the world-famous Serengeti.

Each spacious and elegantly furnished tent is raised off the ground on a wooden deck offering magnificent views of the bush. They come with either double or two twin beds draped in mosquito netting and a small sitting area with a writing desk. The large en suite bathrooms feature an indoor shower that can open to the outdoors by rolling up the canvas. The expansive private deck comes with inviting deck loungers and even a hot tub making it the ideal place to unwind and enjoy the gorgeous views. A private butler will tend to every need and whim. The two family tents are connected by a bridge to create a private family suite.

The camp is nestled into rolling hills above the Northern Serengeti plains. The Serengeti encompasses unimaginably vast 10,000 square miles of diverse ecosystem. Here the camp is poised to witness the dramatic spectacle of the great migration when millions of wildebeests and thousands of zebras and Thomson’s gazelles pour into the Serengeti in search of new pastures. Of course, their predators the lions, leopards, hyenas, and wild dogs are hard on their hooves. Overall, the Serengeti is home to literally millions of large herbivores, with more than 35 species of plains-dwelling mammals, as well as the accompanying carnivores and prolific bird life.

Daily game drives explore the wildlife and landscape of both the Serengeti and the Masai Mara in comfortable 4×4 safari vehicles and with the expert knowledge of a guide and tracker. Morning walking safaris discover the smaller plants and animals around the Mara River with an armed ranger who teaches guests how to identify animal tracks. A visit to a local Kuria village provides insight to their daily life and culture as well as getting a quick lesson in Swahili or learning to play Kuria Bao, a traditional board game. There are also displays of Kuria archery where guests can try their hand with the bow and arrow. Of course, a bush breakfast is a great way to start the day with a delicious meal surrounded by the beauties of the bush.

At the heart of the camp, the main area houses a open-sided dining tent and contemporary lounge with a bar, library, and wine wall. A wooden sundeck and inviting pool let guests cool off during the heat of the afternoon. An eco-friendly property, the camp utilizes solar power.
